Entry into Reception Class September 2017

Applications for Reception places are dealt with by Gloucestershire County Council and the places for September 2017 will be offered in April 2017.  The closing date for applications to Gloucestershire County Council is 15th January 2017 and further details can be found here.  The allocation day for Reception 2017 is 18th April 2017.

We have one intake each year, at the start of the Autumn Term. Reception pupils are normally admitted to school in the September following their 4th birthday. The Published Admission Number (PAN) is a maximum of 30 pupils per class; we have a maximum intake of 60 for Reception Year.

The stages:
*Parents complete the Gloucestershire County Council preference forms in the Autumn before their child is due to start school.  Parents submit this form to Gloucestershire County Council.
*Place allocated by Gloucestershire County Council the following April.
* If choices haven’t been met, parents may first of all request reconsideration, and then appeal.  Both of these processes are dealt with by Gloucestershire County Council.

Our open morning for prospective parents is on Thursday 17th November 2016 at 10.00am.

Entry into Reception, Year 1 to Year 6 In-Year Admissions
Parents of older children, moving into the area, are welcome to make an appointment to visit the school.  An In-Year Application Form then needs to be completed and returned to school with proof of residency.  If there is space in the year group, arrangements are made to admit the child.  If no place is available, parents are informed by letter, and informed on the appeals process.  Children refused a place due to over-subscription are automatically placed on the waiting list and parents are informed of the appeals process.
